Making a “Cowboy Bebop” inspired typeface

Inspired by the anime series “Cowboy Bebop” and its jazz and sci-fi influences I designed and created a typeface that was used for a OOH billboard design.

Cowboy Bebop is a sci-fi western that is highly influenced by jazz music.

I was inspired by the blocks and variation of sizing in the art and type used in jazz albums when creating “Jupiter Jazz”.
